Cow Prices
Australian cattle prices in one place — what it costs to buy a cow, what processors pay, and how prices move by state.
About This Project
CowPrices.com.au tracks the current Australian cattle market in a single, plain-English place. It shows what it costs to buy a cow at market and what processors are paying to buy one, quoted per head in Australian dollars and refreshed daily at 5:00 PM AEDT.
Beyond the headline numbers, the site breaks prices down by state, keeps a running price history so movements can be seen over time, and publishes a saleyards directory alongside wider cattle data. A glossary and a set of farm formulas help make sense of the terminology and the maths behind the figures.
Prices are collected from published market reports and presented as indicative only, with every source listed openly so figures can be traced back and confirmed before buying or selling.
